A Scarlet Witch fanblog deeply unhappy with how Marvel has been handling the character in the past decade. We do not support the AXIS retcon. If you don't know much about the Scarlet Witch, but wish to change that, I find this article helpful. For those who wish to know more about the Maximoff twins, here's the recommended reading.

This goes back to your first run on Avengers: what was the thinking behind redefining the Scarlet Witch's powers as a mutant power over magic (chaos or otherwise)? I took it that it was an attempt to avoid that awkward thing in some comics where she would switch from mutant power to witchcraft and back again, but that's just a guess. (It was fun to see the games with probability back again in Avengers Assemble #20, though I've also liked the games with magic sources in stuff like JLA/Avengers.)

That was an attempt to make sense of Wanda’s backstory, nothing more. She began as a mutant and she clearly has the X-gene, so her powers have to be mutation-based. But later, she also studied actual sorcery under Agatha Harkness, so she draws on more than a single source.
